America is obsessed with breastfeeding.

Whether you are a mama or a mama-to-be, what you do with your breasts and your child is a topic of discussion. Let’s not forget that when a woman whips out a boob to feed her child men stare in awe because, well, breasts! And, of course, there are fellow moms, abuelas, and even celebrities like Gisele Bundchen who “encourage” women to breastfeed their bebes. They also lay on the guilt pretty thick if a woman chooses not to breastfeed.

If you needed any more added pressure, here’s another reason to breastfeed: it makes you horny, baby. A recent study from the University of Colorado that appears in the journal of Human Nature discovered that women who breastfeed and have resumed a normal menstrual cycle are more sexually active than women who do not breastfeed. Your need for sex may even be higher than before you were pregnant.

Do our bodies go into overdrive do to nutty hormones? Not exactly. According to research, we get busier between the sheets to invest in our relationship. In other words, we don’t want to lose the spice or intimacy in our relationship due to motherhood. However, you must have a healthy relationship that you want to maintain. If your partner makes your skin crawl or you’re just not fulfilled romantically, your priority will be your child(ren).

Moral of the story: Breastfeeding is not only good for baby, it is also good for your love (if you give a damn). So whip out those breasts, mamis.
