From day one, Vanessa knew she and Kobe were meant to be. Fourteen years later, the couple has survived all the scrutiny they received when they first got together. When Kobe and Vanessa got married, none of his family members were in attendance because they didn't agree with the union. But Vanessa kept pushing him to reunite with his family. Kobe's strained relationship with his parents ended after their daughter was born.
In 2003, Kobe was charged with sexual assault, after a 19-year-old Colorado mountain resort employee said he raped her. The basketball player admitted to having sex with her and said it was consensual. Vanessa stood by her man's side during the entire thing.
In December 2011, Vanessa filed for divorce but continued to attend Kobe's games, along with their two girls. Later on, she took to Instagram to announce the couple had reconciled and she would be removing her petition for a divorce. “We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled. Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together,” she wrote in 2013.

In 2013, Kobe sprained his left ankle and was set to be out "indefinitely." Vanessa was right by his side, taking care of him and helping him heal to make his big comeback.
Vanessa and Kobe are now preparing to start a new chapter in their lives. The Lakers player announced in November 2015 that this will be his last season on the court, and his wife posted an amazing tribute to him on Instagram following the news. "You can walk away knowing you've always played with everything you have, babe. I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of everything you've given to all of your fans even when you weren't feeling your best. You've always pushed through it because you played for those fans that sacrificed so much to see you play in person. You mean so much to us all. I'm so excited to see what God has in store for us as a family now that one chapter is closing and new ones are opening. We love you! @KobeBryant #20."
