Michelle (28) and Diego Naranjo (26) Mexico; recently married.

"I never thought I would have the “fairy tale” wedding. After three years of dating all I wanted was to tie the knot and for us to be together. When the opportunity presented itself and his grandparents were renewing their vows in Mexico after 65 years of marriage we decided to do it together! It was definitely the best day of my life."

Liz Carvajal (36) & Alex Lopez (39) Flushing, NY; together 6 and a half years.

"We met at the World Trade Center disaster site in April 2002. I was a volunteer with the Salvation Army and he is FDNY in the Bronx. We became friends first then fell in love and started to date."

Rachel (30) and Alejandro (43) Fortiz
Chicago, IL; married 2 years.

"We met at a salsa club, danced the night away and the rest is history! Alejandro's the most supportive husband and amazing papi! He took three months off work after the babies were born...he changes, burps, rocks and plays with them! Nothing is sweeter than his love for us!"

About this author

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
