Sandra Reiman is the fabulous designer behind the luxurious and sleek handbag line Sandra Cadavid. Hailing from Colombia, each bag is handmade one-by-one by artisans in her home country.
After moving to the U.S., Sandra decided to create her own design firm. From there, her handbags have taken off, even being worn and endorsed by celebrities such as Giuliana Rancic, Catherine Giudici, and Alexia Echevarría.
Her line has also been featured on NBC’s Today Show, CNN, and in magazines such as The Los Angeles Fashion Magazine and La Opinión. And in addition to the handbags, the Sandra Cadavid brand will be introducing two new jewelry lines this fall.
Because of her impression success, and her Colombian pride, Sandra Reiman is this week’s inspiring Latina.
You are a handbag designer for the luxury handbag on Sandra Cadavid. Tell us a little bit about your line.
The line is inspired by the 500-year-old fortressed Colombian city, Cartagena, and is designed to convey a sense of timeless luxury that blurs the lines of fashion, design, and art.
The materials for each bag include custom dyed alta gamma leathers made only for the Sandra Cadavid collection, and custom 24k gold plated and "laton envejecido" (vintage finish) hardware. Colombian artisans with more than 30 years of experience constructing luxury leather goods assemble each bag by hand. The time-consuming, intensive process involved to create each bag by hand in Colombia ensures an end result of unique style and impeccable quality, unmatched in the industry.
