Tell us about your job as a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual?
I help my clients achieve their financial goals and dreams through a tailored plan. Since 2002, I've provided professional guidance along with access to a network of specialists to make that possible. Too often, in the Latino community, there is a fear of trust when it comes to finances, so I work hard to build a relationship with my clients based on integrity and trust, striving to make them see that I’m providing them with the same level of ethnical service I would expect for myself.
In the beginning stages of the plan, we discuss risk protection, which includes topics like disability and long-term care insurance. I want to make sure that our clients understand that unexpected things can happen and making sure that your family is taken care of is a priority. I also cover wealth accumulation and preservation. Under this bucket we cover things like planning for college, business and estate planning. When I cover wealth preservation I go through the different services and products available to protect all the things they work so hard for. I’m not there to sell a product but to educate, coach and guide our clients to make the smartest financial decisions for their situation.
You are also the owner of your own practice. What fulfills you the most about that aspect of your role?
As a certified bilingual financial representative I’m able to educate my clients about protecting themselves and their families in both English and Spanish. Ultimately, improving and changing lives is the most fulfilling aspect of my role.
