Inspiring Latina of the Week: Model & Autism Advocate Christina Mendez

Christina Mendez is an actress, model, philanthropist, hostess, and mother, who is taking the entertainment by storm. Being the granddaughter of Meringue King Joseito Mateo, performing was always in her blood.

After nine years of working hard, Christina has become one of the most recognizable “real size” models, and she is proud of her curves! Mendez has been been featured on BET's Rip The Runway, MSN Living, and countless fashion campaigns including QFD by Qristyl Frazier Designs-Project Runway Alumni, and MadRag, amoung others.

In addition to her success, Christina spends a great deal of time giving back, and volunteering with Autism Speaks New York. This charity is near and dear to her heart as Christina is the mother of autistic son.

For her incredible success, hard work, and heart for helping others, Christina Mendez is this week's Inspiring Latina!

What is the typical day look like for Christina Mendez?

I haven’t experiences a typical dayin years. As a mother and working model, any given day my schedule is filled with: answering emails, conference calls, press interviews for Autism Speaks NY (which I am a spokesperson), auditions, callbacks, shooting and filming videos, taking my 2-year-old daughter to a casting, driving my son to afterschool programs and helping him with his homework.
