Jennifer Lopez's Restaurant Shut Down "Until Further Notice"

While she's away yachting in Portofino, Jennifer Lopez's empire suffered a bit of a blow back in Los Angeles. Her 6-year-old restaurant, Madre's, has shut down, "until further notice" according to a sign posted on the eatery's door.

Celebrity-owned restaurants tend to last as long as the stars' high-profile relationships, so props to Madre's for making it as long as it did. Hopefully Eva Longoria Parker's joint Beso won't suffer the same fate...

 

Mexican Comic-book Character Causes Controversy in Texas

This week Wal-Mart announced it was pulling Mexican comic book Memin Pinguin from the shelves in response to a complaint by African American Wal-Mart shopper Shawnedria McGinty. "I was like, OK, is that a monkey or a boy?" McGinty said to CNN, "To me it was an insult."
