The Jodi Arias trial hit an expected turn today after the convicted murderer’s defense lawyers asked for a mistrial and permission to withdraw from the case. On May 8th, Arias, 32, was found guilty of first-degree murder for killing her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in his home in Arizona. During the trial, she eventually admitted to shooting him in the face, stabbing him more than 20 times and then slitting his throat ear to ear.

According to Fox News Latino, 33-year-old David Liaño Gonzalez reached the top of the world on Sunday via both the north and south sides of Everest, which is recognized as the world’s tallest mountain.
