I’m unbelievably impatient and will quickly lose interest if I don’t see results right away. Previous attempts to gain weight by eating greasy burger after greasy burger were always short-lived because I wouldn’t gain a pound. I’ve since learned that eating just one big meal and slacking off for the rest of the day was not going to cut it.
Well I’m thrilled to say that I’ve already seen the numbers go up on my scale! I’d leveled off at 80 pounds since November and in the past four weeks I’ve gained—drum roll please—five pounds!
Now I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but here’s the thing: my body has always leveled off at 86. I could gain a couple, lose a few, but that’s where it would usually remain. And as low as it seemed, at least I was in “normal weight” territory according to my BMI. But after a rough 2008, I lost way too much weight and hadn’t been able to get the scale to budge since. Until now!
You know what else has been motivating me this week? My first tai chi class and an upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic. This added motivation is just what I needed to keep sticking to my healthier habits.
