National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month: Drinks Make a Big Difference
Corbis

As we continue the fight against childhood obesity, the second week of the American Heart Association’s EmpowerMEnt Challenge is about reducing sugar-sweetened beverages. Did you know sodas are one of the leading contributors to obesity? Help your kids start a healthy habit early by reaching for water first (and see if your grocery bill drops!).

Mamás, look at this chart with your hijos and together check to see whether each drink is healthy, not healthy, or okay to drink sometimes. Post this chart on the refrigerator as a reminder and to encourage your whole family to switch to healthy drinks with you!
