Demi Lovato Shares a Morning Routine Secret You Can Adopt

It's no secret that Demi Lovato has been looking her best lately! From her fresh face posts on social media to her fabulous red carpet appearances, the "Confident" singer is in her prime. But it hasn't been easy to get where she is today. The 24-year-old star has battled with bipolar disorder and addiction issues for the past six years, and continues to work every day toward a healthy lifestyle with a structured morning routine.

The singer recently chatted with the Cut, opening up about her morning routine and how it's significant to her whole day.

"I normally wake up around 8 a.m. I have a cup of coffee, and then I go to the gym. I like to do two workouts. The first one will be boxing for an hour or maybe kickboxing or jiu jitsu, and then I’ll strengthen and condition by lifting weights for an hour," she said.

Lovato added: "I just started boxing like a year ago, and I feel stronger and a bit leaner. Because I work out first thing in the morning, I’ll have a post-workout meal, and that is a bowl of berries, some nuts, bananas, and kefir."

Two workouts?! Yes, chicas, these are #fitnessgoals we ought to get on board with.

Still, she notes that every day is a work in progress. "I implement health and wellness on tour by making sure that I work out daily, that I talk to the people around me, and make sure that I stay in therapy and do the things that I need to make sure that I live a happy and healthy life," she said.

The morning workouts aren't just keeping her healthy, either. Another secret to her youth glow may have a lot to do with her workout routine. Cardio exercise provides your body with a heavy dose of oxygenated blood. Your skin instantly glows more, and that light is maintained for hours after a sweat session. 

Lovato's workout routine also helps her body to produce collagen, which is a natural protein that contributes to keeping the skin supple and firm, along with her favorite go-to skincare picks.

"I make sure that I take off my makeup every single night. I wash my face, and then I moisturize before I go to bed. I also wash it before I start my day, after my workout in the morning. I love to use anything by Renée Rouleau — all her products are amazing."
