DARA TORRES, Swimmer, 50 & 100 Meter Freestyle
Dara Torres was born April 15, 1967. She has won nine Olympic medals, including four golds. She set the record for the 50 meter freestyle when she was 15 years old and has broken it two more times since then, most recently at this years Olympic trial. At age 41, she's the oldest Olympic swimming medalist in history and she's also the only swimmer to medal in five different Olympics! "I'm proving that you can be 41 and that you can follow your dreams and that age is just a number." Random Fact: Dara was the first athlete to appear in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1994. She won 3 silver medals in Beijing in the 4x100m free relay, the 4x100 medley relay, and the individual 50m free.
