After having an epic Star Wars encounter, my family and I were excited to experience another fun-filled Walt Disney World® Resort adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. Not only is Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park one of the largest animal theme parks in the world with over 2,000 animals but it also has thrilling attraction rides, Broadway-style shows, and tasty dining.
Like most families, my family loves going on rides. When you add the enjoyment of rides and mix it with being up close to exotic animals, it’s a winning combination. Thrill seekers (like my boys) will have their breath taken away at Our favorite can’t miss ride to experience together as a family is Kilimanjaro Safaris® Expedition. My parents and my infant baby were able to board this open-air safari vehicle and tour the lush African savanna that is home to so many exotic animals. Kilimanjaro Safaris® Expedition offers an exceptionally realistic experience just like being on actual African safari. Animals such as zebras, wildebeests, impalas, giraffes, rhinos, elephants and lions roam free surrounded by open plains, shady forest landscapes and rocky wetlands. Everyone in my family was delighted to encounter animals in their natural habitat. It’s truly unique to be able to observe these wild creatures eating, grazing, bathing and even crossing right in front of our safari vehicle! The helpful tour guide provided valuable information throughout the journey and was a source of learning for all of us. Be sure to have your cameras ready to go because animals are everywhere and you will want to get all of the memorable moments with your family.
Another unique attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park is the Tree of Life Attraction. Majestic and beautiful, the Tree of Life is 145 feet tall and has over 300 meticulously detailed animal carvings throughout its massive trunk, roots and outstretched branches. The boys loved playing “seek and find” by trying to find each animal they could see and excitedly shouting when they correctly identified one. Nestled amid the base of the Tree of Life Attraction is a landscape of pools, meadows and trees which are home to a variety of live animals, including lemurs, flamingos, kangaroos and tortoises. Also, inside the Tree of Life Attraction is a theater where the multimedia show, It’s Tough to be a Bug!, is performed.
There is much to do at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, including a variety of quality musical entertaining shows like the Festival of the Lion King, the safari themed Rainforest Café at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and a petting zoo for a delightful hands-on encounter with animals. You won’t want to miss the fun and unforgettable memories your family will share at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.
