Argentinean beauty queen Solange Magnano suffered from fatal complications after receiving plastic surgery on her buttocks (gluteoplasty).
Magnano, who was crowned Miss Argentina in 1994, died of a pulmonary embolism Sunday after three days in critical condition following her surgery in Buenos Aires. Roberto Piazza, a close friend of the 38-year-old mother of twins, told the Associated Press that the liquid in the injections used "went to her lungs and brain." He added, "A woman who had everything lost her life to have a slightly firmer behind.”
Dr. Gonzalo Cortes y Tristan, however, says that the model arrived for her procedure with a pre-existing acute respiratory deficiency. Her condition then deteriorated during surgery.
