Daniel Hernandez, Diego Vasquez to Sit with Michelle Obama at State of the Union Address

When President Obama stands in front of the nation tonight for the State of the Union address, two Latinos will be seated right next to him in Michelle Obama's guest box.

Hero intern Daniel Hernandez, who has been credited with saving Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords life will be sharing the space with 21 other guests (including the First and Second Ladies). Hernandez is a student advocate and political activist from Tucson, Arizona who is currently serving as a Congressional Intern for Congresswoman Giffords. He's a junior at the University of Arizona, currently working towards his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

College freshman Diego Vasquez will also be joining Hernandez in Michelle Obama's box. A member of the team from Cesar Chavez High School in Laveen, Arizona that won a grant through the Lemelson-MIT Program’s InvenTeams initiative for their design of a adjustable motorized chair for medically fragile individuals, Diego first met the President at the October 2010 White House Science Fair.
