The most important meal that I eat is after my workout! Your muscles are literally starving for nutrition post work out! So, the meal you eat after is very important for building muscle and replenishing your energy. And the meal you eat at this time is the most important for building muscle and replenishing energy sources.
Exercise depletes your amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein and it’s important to have chicken (I don’t eat meat, only fish), fish or eggs after a workout.
You also need carbs and the best carbs to eat are oatmeal, grains, brown rice and veggies! This will help replenish your glycogen! Most of you know that I’m a Pescatarian and I don’t eat meat except fish, crab, shrimp, etc. Do what you feel is best for you but please make certain to refuel after an intense workout.
Check out some of my favorite meals that I eat as a source of energy for me – love you guys!
