Joan Smalls is a 5’10” Boricua who dominates the catwalk. She was the first black model to be signed as the face of Estee Lauder and is the No. 1 top model on Smalls has no problem talking about racism in the industry. 'There are people in the industry who are advocates, who support diversity,” she told Elle. “And there are people who do not. I don’t get it. Beauty is universal. These doors have to open.”
