JLo Firsts: Remix

First Latina to Top the Charts with a Remix

When Jennifer Lopez released her second, self-titled album, J.Lo on January 23td, 2001, and saw that two of the singles off the album, ("I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny") were huge hits, Lopez asked her label to remix both songs. Both remixes reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks. A year later, Lopez released an entire remixed album called J to tha L-O!: The Remixes that debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and became the first remix album in history to debut at the top of the charts.

She's a pop culture junkie who watches way too much television, and she still hoards magazines.
