Eva Longoria Parker goes to celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves when she needs to raise the levels on her glam meter. We totally understand why after seeing the inspired looks Paves created for Longoria Parker when she hosted the 2008 ALMA Awards.

The stylist spoke to about the chignon Longoria Parker wore to this year’s Golden Globes Awards, stressing how important it was for the star to look natural. “Modern beauty is not worn,” Paves says. “It is effortless!”

Paves breaks down how he created the look he says was inspired by “Ally McGraw from the early ’70s.” Follow these steps to achieve your own sexy movie star ’do:

1. "I began on towel-dried hair and added a shine serum, like the Ken Paves Healthy Hair Shine Serum ($30).

2. "Then, I parted her hair down the middle and blow-dried it straight with a Mason Pearson mixed bristle brush and flat ironed it dead straight."

3. "I then pulled it low and tight and tied it with a hooked elastic band. I enhanced the glamour with more shine using the shine serum. I wanted it clean and classic but not too severe, so I left some texture around the hairline, adding the effortless aspect of this look."

4. "Finally, I wrapped some of her hair around the base of the ponytail for a seamless look, and finished the look with the Ken Paves Healthy Hair Strong Hold Shaping Spray ($24)."
