Get the Look: Frida Kahlo-inspired Hair at Misha Nonoo

Presenting her Spring 2013 line in New York, designer Misha Nonoo accentuated her fresh, girly designs with a Frida Kahlo-inspired hair look that was soft, pretty and feminine. Created by Marcos Diaz of ION Studio for Davines, we got the scoop on how to recreate the look at home!

Begin by spraying the hair with Davines for Wizards No. 14 Sea Salt Primer. This gave it a great textured, gritty look and made the hair easy to work with.

Part the hair in three vertical sections; two small sections at either side of the head and one larger section in the back.

Next, work each small section into a traditional braid, weaving fabric throughout to create two braids.

Once complete, use the extra fabric left at the end of the braid to tie the two pieces together at the top of the head, positioned to resemble a crown.

Finally, gather the remaining hair at the back of the head and create a loose bun, securing with pins.
