TeresaTastes Her Way Through New York City’s Latin Restaurant Scene

Supermodel Teresa Moore likes good food and great clothes, which is why it was only natural for the brunette beauty to start a blog devoted to all things cuisine and fashion related.

TeresaTastes chronicles her life, her most-loved outfits, and her must-try restaurant recos, so of course we wanted to grill her on her favorite Latin spots in the city. Read on for her take on where to go for the best empanadas, tacos, and guacamole.

El Toro Blanco

El Toro Blanco has a great downtown vibe and they serve delicious dishes with unique preparations, such as the “Camarones en Mojo de Ajo"—seared gulf shrimp and Spanish chorizo in an ancho chile roasted tomato lobster broth with poblano rice.

La Esquina

The famed underground Mexican restaurant known for their huge selection of tequilas and killer fish or pulled pork tacos. It has a very cool bar scene as well.

La Cenita Steak

My new favorite Mexican spot in the Meatpacking District. Try the yellowfin tuna and watermelon, which has a Serrano chile kick.

Beauty & Essex

A gorgeous place that’s great for groups or parties in the lower east side. Get the empanadas or the tuna tacos.

Tortilla Flats

A great margarita bar with fun bingo, hula hoops, and quiz nights. Bonus: cheap enchiladas.

Multiple locations around the city serving fresh and flavorful Mexican food. Try the tuna tacos in a lettuce wrap or the fresh made guacamole with crudités.

Yuca Bar

A cheap and cheerful venue in the east village that has great sangria and platters of South American food.

Where Japanese and Peruvian meet, in a fun colorful restaurant with specialties like miso cod skewers with Peruvian corn, and raw fish Tiraditos and ceviches.

Churrascaria Plataforma

An all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse with an enormous salad bar. Try the cheese bread and start and stop the servers with unlimited cuts of meat on skewers—hold out for the Picanha.

Comodo

A total foodie restaurant with interesting dishes like the Mezcal octopus with warm kale and coconut-rubbed trout.
