Da Conch Shack
Blue Hills Beach
Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands
Last month, I was lucky enough to go to join the Caribbean Tourism Organization for the annual GObeach festival in Turks & Caicos. The islands are gorgeous, and it didn’t hurt that I was surrounded by super cute volleyball players that knew all the good local spots. My favorite was Da Conch Shack, an outdoor eatery with a very low key vibe.

As downtown keeps on getting cooler, more restaurants keep on popping up that won't break the bank. Lucha Libre, a recently opened real deal taqueria—complete with bright pink walls and Lucha Libre memorabilia like masks and 60's movie ads—brings a little Mexico City to all of us stuck here in New York.

Pipa, a Spanish tapas restaurant owned by ABC Carpet & Home and Chef Douglas Rodriguez is an absolutely gorgeous venue. Romantic, dimly–lit chandeliers, antique mirrors and a cozy wooden and brick wall dining room make you feel as though you've been transported back in time.

Yerba Buena Perry
1 Perry Street
New York, NY 10014
I’ve been highly anticipating the opening of the new Yerba Buena because I loved the first one and, honestly speaking, Perry Street is closer to my hood. Since it’s opening less than a month ago, the new YB has been flooded with foodies. After finally managing to snag a reservation, I can see why.

As of right now, the only way to find this newest addition to the Pio Pio empire is to accidentally stumble upon it. It’s location is not even posted on the website yet! So, of course, when I came across it while walking down the street, I just had to make a detour to stop in.

With a name like Chilam Balam, which translates to “Book of the Jaguar” (a reference to the Mayan prophecy that the Earth’s current cycle will end in 2012) you know this brand new Mexican eatery in Chi town will be pushing the culinary envelope.
