Ever since this Latin restaurant opened 4 years ago in a not-so-Latin city, it has been earning rave reviews from local foodies and critics alike. The half-Puerto Rican, half-Mexican—and, might I add, hot!—owner and chef, Anthony Lamas, has been cooking since he was a child in his family’s restaurant. Since then, Lamas has received his fair share of recognition from the James Beard House and the Food Network and has been named as a "Top Chef to Watch."
This restaurant has provided a perfect way to add some flavor to Kentucky. Don’t let the name fool you! They serve much more than just the raw fish dish marinated in citrus juices known as ceviche (or seviche or cebiche, it's up to you). Some of the popular dishes are the mussels in spicy cilantro sauce ($8), which can feed up to three people as an appetizer, the popular Brazilian dish fejioda ($19) and the macadamia crusted sea bass ($29). Of course, if you’re in the mood for ceviche, you can take your pick of many options. Chef Anthony Lamas adds his own special twist, but all of the versions are equally delish. Depending on the weather, you can opt for outdoor or indoor seating, but one thing that will never change is the deep-rooted Latin influence that this up-and-coming chef has brought to his outstanding restaurant.
