Miami is not just about little Havana and Cuban food. There is also a warm culture entrenched in Miami that caters to the thriving Latino Jewish Community. One of the premiere spots to enjoy this niche cuisine is the 9 month old restaurant Rare. Comparable to any top-notch steak house this Kosher establishment has something that caters to everyone, regardless of race, religion or creed—as long as you're willing to skip the dairy.
At Rare, the atmosphere is serene and relaxing. Although it's a fairly new restaurant and is sure to face fierce competition, I am sure it will become a staple of all who enjoy great food and, of course, a great steak. Needless to say the Rib-eye was fantastic, with 4 different sauce options and onion fries. But what really surprised me was the macadamia nut crusted sea bass drizzled with a balsamic reduction. I don't know if the Kosher preparation had anything to do with it, but it was the freshest, tastiest fish I have had in a while. The dairy-free dessert also blew my mind—a cookie dough soufflé cake featuring an oozing, yummy warm chocolate center topped off with a few fresh strawberries. The food was so good, it made this Catholic girl want to convert.
