Live Music: Sat and Sun Brunch

It was my bff’s soon-to-be birthday and she was looking for a chilled out Sunday brunch place,  with music we can shake our booties to, so I suggested the recently opened spot Miss Favela.

When I got to the ‘Burg and reached this botequim, a Brazilian neighborhood bistro, painted entirely of their native colors, I had a flashback of when I was in Rio De Janiero livin’ the good life without a care in the world! Ahhh, the memories.

With a live samba band playing we were all very anxious to dance, so we quickly sat down to grab a bite to eat before the real festivities began. I had a salad with shrimp and mango sauce along with my fave Bolinho de bacalhau and codfish croquettes. I’m being a little vague here, but let’s just say the main attraction here is not the food, but the ambiance and strawberry Caipirinhas!

Needless to say, we got our Samba on all day long and although the food wasn’t the most memorable Miss Favela is still a great time.
