Spain's El Bulli Restaurant Named Best in the World

For the fourth year in a row Spain's famed El Bulli restaurant has nabbed the top spot on S.Pellegrino World's Best Restaurants list. S. Pellegrino works with Restaurants magazine to poll over 800 of the world's most important chefs, critics and industry insiders.

Chef Ferran Adrià has once again beaten out the very stiff competition for his work at El Bulli restaurant located in Catalonia, Spain. Two other Spanish restaurants, El Celler de Can Roca and Arzak rounded out the top 10. Spain can now claim more top-notch, world class restaurants than any other country! Accepting the prestigious award, Adrià acknowledged that it had been "a very important night for Spain."

Adrià also tipped his hat to second place finisher, Heston Blumenthal, head chef of Britain's The Fat Duck restaurant which was forced to close down for a short period last year due to a health scare, saying, "I dedicate this prize to Heston Blumenthal. He has shown me what honesty means in this business. This prize is for you."

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
