About This Recipe 

Use regular brown sugar if you can't find piloncillo.

Ingredients 

14 oz. fresh or frozen sapote or mamey pulp
4 cups tangerine or orange juice
2 oz. (about 2 small cones) piloncillo (unrefined Mexican brown sugar)
1/2 cup water
1 cup crushed ice
1 tsp. chili powder

Preparation 

Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.
