Cocktail of the Week: Paradijs

If you’ve been on the east coast recently, then chances are you’re one of the many who’s fed up with the never ending winter wonderland. From snow storms to blizzards, Mother Nature keeps reminding us that we’re not any closer to spring. It’s no wonder that some are tempted to leave work behind for a tropical getaway to muy caliente Mexico or picture perfect Brazil. While a trip may be impossible, we’ll settle for the next best thing: an easy-to-make, thirst quenching cocktail that will leave you feeling as if you’re soaking up the sun on a white sand beach.

Paradijs, the Dutch word for “paradise” is the name of this drink, a nod to the Van Gogh Vodka used in the recipe. Those who love the refreshing taste of pineapple will adore Paradijs, which features jugo de piña. To balance out the drink’s tartness, ripe strawberries are added, which creates the beverage a soft pink hue. Can’t hit the beach anytime soon? Then settle for a Paradijs, the cocktail that will bring paradise to you.
