The scorching sun glares down from a cloudless blue sky and your sunglasses slip as you gasp for air. It’s officially summertime and the heat has never been so brutal. Fortunately, there’s a quick cure that can combat rising temperatures, while quenching your thirst: a tall, frosty glass of tart lemonade. Best of all, this timeless classic has been given a makeover, Latin style.
The steamy season is all about escaping our everyday lives in search of excitement, which is why a vacation to South Beach is a must this year! The Latin Lemonade, served at Ola Miami in the Sanctuary Hotel, is like a mirage: prepare to make a run for it before it suddenly disappears. Lemonade, which is usually a mixture of water, sugar, lemon or lime juice, has been perfected by the addition of a creamy puree of passion fruit and guava, and smooth rum for a zesty, tangy finish. Thanks to a splash of 7UP, this bubbly, dreamy citrus concoction has a fresh crisp taste that‘s ideal for the beach. When life gives you lemons (and a bottle of rum), you better make some Latin Lemonade!
