The Most Brilliant (And Baffling) Pumpkin Spice Items

Autumn is the season for leather boots, cable-knit sweaters, cozy scarves, pipin' hot apple cider.... and of course, pumpkin spice. Since Starbucks introduced its absurdly popular Pumpkin Spice Latte, brands have been battling each other to the death to concoct the perfect variation of the cold-weather treat.

Move over, Starbucks. These are the most brilliant (and baffling) ways to get your fall fix:

MORE: Five Pies You'll Want To Bake All Autumn Long

1. Brilliant: Sur La Table's Pumpkin Spice Baked Goods

2. Brilliant Or Baffling? M&Ms

The verdict is still out on Pumpkin Spice Latte flavored M&Ms, which hit shelves at Target this autumn. We have yet to try them, but you know we'll be snackin' on these bite-sized treats alongside Starbucks' new revamped PSL recipe all fall (and winter) long.

3. Brilliant: Milanos

Everyone can just stop trying, because Pepperidge Farm created the most brilliant pumpkin spice creation. Instead of overwhelming us with pumpkin flavor (no one likes it that much), Milano adds just a touch of the spice to their traditional, beloved chocolate-stuffed cookie. The result? Magical, autumny goodness.

4. Baffling: Pasta

Things we definitely do not want for dinner: pumpkin-spice flavored pasta with vodka sauce, meatballs and mozzarella.

5. Brilliant: Pop-Tarts

Some may complain that these sound "too sweet" or "too sugary for breakfast." Eat them for dessert or don't eat them at all, but warm, ooey-gooey pumpkin Pop-Tarts sound like heaven to us.

6. Baffling: Peanut Butter

We simply cannot fathom how someone thought this would be enjoyable. Who wants a PB&J with pumpkin spice peanut butter and grape jelly? No one.

7. Brilliant: Oreos

We can't help but love the Pumpkin Spice Oreos  — even if they do taste like gingerbread

8. Baffling: Pringles

We admit it: we love Pizza Pringles. We even enjoy an occasional Tangy Buffalo Wing Pringle. But we have to draw the line somewhere, and that line falls on Pumpkin Spice Pringles.

9. Brilliant: Yoplait Light

For years, we've enjoyed Boston Cream Pie and Key Lime Pie Yoplait Light yogurts. We would be more than willing to try their new Pumpkin Pie flavor (and not just for the sake of our diets).

10. Baffling: Tea

While we love a splash of pumpkin spice flavor in our coffee, we don't love the idea of it in our tea.

11. Brilliant: CoffeeMate Creamer

We can create our own pumpkin-spice coffee creations at home and save ourselves the frustration of waiting in line at Starbucks? Yes, yes, yes.

12. Baffling: Whey Protein

Perfect for those post-workout pumpkin spice latte cravings, ya know?

13. Brilliant: Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins

Are we dreaming? This fall, Dunkin' Donuts will offer pumpkin spiced coffee, donuts, muffins and Munchkins. The bite-sized donut holes perfectly complement our a.m. caffeine fix — and give us a burst of energy during our afternoon slump.

14. Baffling: Vodka

Pair this pumpkin spiced spirit with vodka-infused whipped cream for a truly interesante autumn drinking adventure.
