Junior Merino for Avocados from Mexico

Avocado Mezcal Cocktail

This refreshing frozen drink created by chef Junior Merino balances out its heat with smoky mezcal.

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado from Mexico, halved, pitted & peeled
  • 6 ounces white mezcal
  • 6 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 4 ounces light agave nectar
  • 3 ounces Midori
  • 2 ounces Cointreau

 

In a blender, combine all ingredients; whirl until combined. Add 2 cups of ice and blend until smooth. Serve in a glass rimmed with Junior Merino’s Cactus & Lemongrass Rimmer. Garnish with avocado wedge pressed in Junior Merino’s Hibiscus Rose Rimmer.

Yield: 4 cocktails

Taco Bell's Waffle Taco

The Mexican fast food giant is currently testing what they're calling the "waffle taco", a low-priced breakfast menu that features a sausage patty and scrambled eggs folded into a waffle. It's available at only a few locations in California so we haven't been able to try it yet, but the combination is enough to make me gag already.
