What to Wear to Work When It's a Million Degrees Outside

Getting dressed for work when you’d rather be getting ready for the beach (or you know, be naked) is not fun, but luckily we found a few rompers, breezy tops, and day-to-night dresses you’ll love so much, you might actually be ok with stepping into the furnace aka outside.

1. color-block shift

A cute color-block shift makes 9-5 a lot easier.

2. suede shorts

You might be thinking, “Seriously, Latina? Suede in the summer?” but we promise you these buttery-soft cognac shorts are a solid choice. The fabric is not only extremely lightweight, thanks to 100% caprine leather, but the front pleats, two side pockets, and two welt pockets at the back make them wearable with basically all of your go-to summer shirts.

3. Laser Cut

The genius thing about this top is it has laser cut outs in the fabric, which means it’s airy for those super-hot days, but also on trend in the fashion world. Tuck it into a cotton skirt, add some statement jewels, and you’re all set!

4. Jumpsuit

A jumpsuit is the ultimate office-to-date choice for summer. Si, long pants are involved, but the sleeveless halter top balances that out and the loose (not clingy) fabric keeps this onesie from feeling too constricting. (So no, you won’t be sweating your butt off.)

5. Aztec Print

This is another fun option featuring shorts in lieu of pants, in a great aztec print. Throw a white blazer on while you’re inside (and hopefully in AC), then take it off for after-work drinks with your chicas later.

6. Collared Shirt

The collar on this top makes it business meeting appropriate, but the lightweight material also makes it bearable in the heat. White jeans and wedges complete the look.

7. Of Mercer

No one does work dresses better than Of Mercer.

8. Anthro Tank

This is no ordinary tank. In fact, it’s a fancy tank that practically designed to impress your co-workers.

9. Jean Shorts

If you can get away with jean shorts where you work (ahem, casual Fridays), then by all means rock this outfit head-to-toe. If that’s a bit of a stretch, add a cuffed capri instead.

10. Neutrals

Summer neutrals done right. PS—the blazer and pants are made from scuba fabric, which is soft and stretchy, AKA perfect for hot, hot, hot summer months.
