Weekend Shopper: Topshop Jumps Across the Pond...Hooray!

Ever notice how girls from the U.K., like M.I.A. and Kate Moss, always seem to have that effortless and irreverent style that mixes up punk, hip-hop and glam all in one delectable fashion pudding? It's no wonder. They have access to incredible retailers like Topshop that syphon irresistible trends straight from the runway and onto the backs of the stylish (we do have Zara, Forever 21 and H&M, but still). Well fret no more--Topshop has just launched its U.S. site! And it's about darn time. Now you, too, can bop around town in these checkerboard skinny jeans for only $80. And look for an actual Topshop store to hit NYC in November!...

If loud prints and subversive silhouettes isn't your cup of tea, then perhaps you'll rejoice at the news that Ralph Lauren just opened up a fancy pants boutique called Ralph on Robertson in L.A., which will have items for men, women and children. The word on the street is that neighboring retailers are annoyed that the block just keeps getting more establishment as rents soar sky-ward...

Good news for fashion enthusiasts, Foley + Corinna in downtown NYC (146 Orchard Street, near Rivington Street) is having a sample sale all weekend. The brand is known for its quirky, downtown, and yet very feminine styles, which are sometimes vintage or heavily inspired by vintage. According to nymag.com's "The Cut": "City totes are $220 (originally $485); a chiffon wrap dress is $150 (originally $374). Plus, there's so much stock that they've moved the sale to a bigger location on Orchard Street." This is not to be missed, people!...

Unless, of course, you are too busy perusing the celebrity sidewalk sale at Screaming Mimi's on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. The address is 328 Lafayette St., between Great Jones and East 4th Streets. Folks like Mickey Boardman from Paper Magazine and Charlotte Ronson (love, love, love her) are having a stoop sale of sorts of goodies from their own personal closets. One socialite's trash is another fashionista's treasure!
