Kat's Closet: Walk Like a Man

Men's fabrics and gentlemanly patterns are hot for fall! Especially black and white tweeds and wool fabrics.
Wool styles can be bulky, but with some womanly curves and a great hem, the fabric can totally work! Fitted dresses and trousers paired with patent-leather pumps, are a classy fashion-must have. Designers like Azzedine Alaia, Salvatore Ferragamo, Chanel, and Yves Saint Lauren have always designed woman's clothing in rebellious manly patterns, so it's definitely a timeless look that will never go out of style.
Even though wool is a strong material it's actually very figure-flattering. Lately, I'm loving super slim wool skirts with daring slits and fitted wool coats. It's easy to combine key wool pieces in a ton of different ways!
For example, try pairing a classic red top with a black and white tight plaid wool skirt and black pumps. Or try a wool coat and a high-waist pencil skirt with a black and white silk blouse—just make sure the blouse has a similar pattern. Get some cool patent leather high heels, pull your hair back into a textured bun shape and apply a bright red lip! If all your pieces are the same color make sure they have different textures. That way you can create some contrast within the same pattern.
It's a straight-forward and secy look that is perfect for fall and works great for the office!
