I had a baby nine months ago. I’ve lost a lot of weight, but the extra pounds around my midsection won’t go away. How can I make that area appear slimmer?
One trick is wearing high-waisted bottoms. If you don’t feel comfy with that, you can try loose tops because they give the illusion of a slimmer body. Print pieces also work because the eye automatically focuses on the design of the print more than on your body.
Nice clothes can sometimes be expensive. If I were to indulge in one piece of clothing, what piece would you recommend?
Indulge in staples that can transition easily, like a black blazer. It is a piece that you can wear with many different looks and outfits, and always looks fashionable.
What colors do you think go well together?
Color combination should be based on your mood, style and what compliments your complexion—after that, anything goes. If you want to go trendy, mixing bright colors, like bold pinks and oranges, is the way to go. Neutrals, like a camel hue, can be paired with any color. For a classic look, you can never go wrong with black and white. Try on all types of colors and see which ones make you feel and look better!
I’m too short for regular pants and too tall for petite. What’s a girl to do?
I have that same problem and have yet to find a store that caters to girls like us. After traveling the world, I noticed that many high-end European labels, like YSL and Chanel, have smaller cuts than in the United States. If you don’t want to spend a lot, wear high heels, or a skinny belt over a loose top, and raise the pants high on your waist.
