2011 has proven to be a very exciting year for bold jewelry trends. I'm all about making statements so you already know I'm very happy about this!
It’s all about the big chain necklaces, heavy metals and electric natural looks. Tribal accessories have been a very dominant trend, something I like to rock on what I like to call my 'casual hobo time.'
Beaded and stone-embellished rings and cuffs can help make a statement, too.
Now, you don't want to over-do it. If you're wearing a chunky necklace, don't wear bulky earrings or chandelier earrings. I would go sans earrings.
If you decide to wear a heavy, stone-embellished or metal ring, don't do a cuff or bracelet. It's about letting your statement piece shine and not fighting with the others for attention. In the end, you won't want to look like a Christmas tree, LOL.
Some of my fave jewelry designers are Alexis Bittar, Lanvin, David Yurman, Cartier, Chanel and YSL. Now I know many of the jewelry designers I named can be a bit expensive. Thankfully, there are many stores that carry similar designs for a more affordable price! Try Top Shop, Forever 21 and H&M. You can also try Girlprops.com to find awesome pieces and go crazy without having to break the bank.
Bueno señoritas, jewelry shopping it is!
