Narciso Rodriguez Hopes to Design Michelle Obama’s Inaugural Dress

Narciso Rodriguez had guests at Monday night’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards gushing over Michelle Obama’s election night dress, designed by Rodriguez. The designer told The New York Observer : "[Michelle Obama] saw that dress and she liked it...She saw it on the runway, she chose it, I guess from the runway..." When asked if he would be chosen to design the inaugural gown, Rodriguez responded, "It would be nice to think so."

Even though other designers have submitted sketches for the First Lady-Elect (including Diane Von Furstenberg), we think Rodriguez has a great shot. In fact, while partying at the CFDA Awards, Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler said,"[Michelle is] probably going to be wearing Narciso every day!" Four years of Rodriguez designs in the White House is change we can believe in.
