Style Scoop: Jessica Alba Swaps Mommy Duties for Narciso's New Clothes

By day, Jessica Alba is a devoted new mother pushing her four-month old newborn, Honor, around in a stroller. But unlike most moms, the actress transformed into a fashion creature on the evening of the Narciso Rodrguez fashion show in New York. She wore a Narciso-designed, salmon-colored frock with bold borders, the opaquest, blackest tights you've ever seen, and serious peep-toe heels—exactly the kind of shoes most moms would love to wear if it meshed with their lifestyle. Alba enjoyed front row access with fellow Narciso-ites, Claire Daines and Juliana Margulies, the former ER actress who had the misfortune of being photographed this way. Those front-slit dresses are tricky!...

For his A-list audience, Narciso Rodriguez delivered a dynamic show. "Rocking ninja-star action!" is how he described his collection to Style.com. The spectacle started with a celebration of horizontal zebra stripes which splashed across pencil skirts and tapered pants. Then, he moved the focus to show-stopping colors like sour lime and saturated teal, while even dabbling in some subtler flesh tones. There were lots of pretty silhouettes that nipped waists and flattered figures, which are sure to please Rodriguez's well-heeled clientele...

Speaking of VIPs, the New York Daily News compiled a very informative list of the 50 most powerful people at the event. Obviously Anna Wintour, Patrick Robinson and Marc Jacobs topped the list, but Carolina Herrera and Oscar De La Renta tied at No. 14...

But if you're neither as rich nor powerful as these established garmentos, then you probably find your fashion at more affordable spots like Target. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as the retailer has gone deeper into the couture world than ever before. Launching in limited-time locations throughout Manhattan this week are Bullseye Bodegas, which will sell chic and fashionable items for home, wardrobe, accessories and beauty. You already know how much we adore all of Target's limited edition designer collabos. This news should make budget-minded moms very, very happy.
