Nicole Richie to Expand House of Harlow 1960 Line with Handbags

We have to be honest: In the past we've been underwhelmed by fashion lines designed by celebrities. Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960 is a definite exception to that rule! We're excited to hear about her expansion of the accessories line, which began as a collection of costume jewelry designed in collaboration with Mouawad.

Richie is planning on expanding House of Harlow 1960 to include a collection of handbags that will hit the market in the spring of 2011. She is currently focusing on her sunglasses and footwear lines, which just launched. There will be about forty to fifty new bags made for the line, the prices will range from $295 to $595 and apparently Richie has been very hands-on throughout the design process. Rick Cytrynbaum, the cofounder of Majestic Mills, which produces House of Harlow 1960 accessories in addition to Winter Kate, Richie’s clothing label, told that the former reality TV starlet "has been really all over doing this.”

Nicole's hippie chic aesthetic has wooed other important fans, too; Madonna, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian have all been spotted in Richie's designs. “If you look at the clothing and you look at the footwear, you get an idea of what the bags are going to be,” Cyntrynbaum told If that's the case, then we're guaranteed to love them!
