Michelle Obama Wears Narciso Rodriguez for Historic Night
| 11/05/2008 - 13:17 |
Michelle Obama, the nation's first African-American First Lady, wore a red and black dress designed by Narciso Rodriguez on Tuesday night as her husband Barack Obama became president-elect of the United States.
Joining her husband and two adorable daughters Malia and Sasha on stage at Grant Park in Chicago, Mrs. Obama wore the striking knee-length dress with three-quarter length sleeves that Narciso Rodriguez originally designed for his "ninja rock star" inspired Spring 2009 collection.
Mrs. Obama is most commonly associated with the fashion designer Maria Pinto, a local Chicagoan of Italian descent who many speculate will design her inauguration gown, and she is also a fan of looks crafted by Isabel Toledo, a Cuban-American fashion designer. Narciso Rodriguez is also a Cuban-American fashion designer from Newark.
Tell us: what did you think of Michelle Obama's Narciso-designed look for Election Night?
