Fashion Week Spotlight: Carolina Herrera

The Spring/Summer 2011 "Mercedes Benz Presents" designer Carolina Herrera brought the Far East to her usual class and elegance with botanical appliques, obi-style belts and large Korean bows. Rich, vibrant reds, pinks and greens splashed across the white catwalk.

Herrera said that "the cut and details of this collection were inspired by traditional clothes from Korea." That influence was most apparent in the wide brim straw hats often seen on male farmers in the Asian country and the bird and floral-printed jacquard fabrics. As always, she managed to create a feminine collection while paying close attention to the details and little touches we have come to expect from this iconic designer.
