Fashion Week Spotlight: Angel Sanchez

The Venezuelan designer, Angel Sanchez, previewed his Spring/ Summer 2011 collection yesterday and it was clear that his architectural background influenced more than one piece in this collection. Bright colors like blue and coral were paired with classic black and white.  Perfectly fitted asymmetrical cocktail dresses and high-waisted pants with sequins, athletic mesh and uncommon pockets gave the collection a fashion-forward feeling.  But the star of the collection was a v-neck sequined dress that was painted with hues of blue, white, and black which gave the frock an amazing textured feel without being flashy—it looked like a beautiful piece of art, which was exactly what Sanchez was going for.
