It's an exciting time for all Celia Cruz fans!
This past Tuesday (Aug.1), The Celia Cruz Estate launched a new clothing and merch line inspired by the late Latin singer. According to PRNewswire, Omer Pardillo-Cid, executor of the The Celia Cruz Estate and director of The Celia Cruz Legacy Project announced that the online store would provide trendy merchandise that will pay homage to the iconic Latin star. The store, which can be found on the merchandise section of Celiacruz.com has t-shirts, phone cases, posters, totes, hats and decorative pillows that all possess the essence of the Celia.
"Since Celia's death fourteen years ago, my sole purpose has been to keep her legacy alive for future generations through a myriad of projects. For some time I have collaborated with different designers to bring to life a merchandising line that would capture the joy and vibrancy that Celia embodied," Pardillo-Cid told PRNewswire.
The Cuban singer died in 2003 at 77 after battling a deadly brain tumor. The Celia Cruz Legacy Project has dedicated itself to keeping her alive through the sharing of memorabilia and exclusive content on the website and through her various social media platforms.
Throughout her career, Celia has produced over 70 albums and has won countless awards including three Grammy awards and four Latin Grammy awards. Although it has been 14 years since her passing, her legacy lives on through foundations and through her perpetual songs including; “Azucar Negra,” “Guantanamera," and “La Vida Es Un Carnival.”
