Jennifer Lopez was riding the success of her debut album “On the 6” by making a golden appearance at her first-ever Grammys red carpet in a gold glittery mini-dress. J.Lo, who was dateless at the time, kept it chic and minimal. What a difference a couple of years can make!
J.Lo’s green Versace number is probably the most famous gown to walk the Grammy red carpet to date! Besides showing the power of double-sided tape, the palm tree-print green dress featuring a very deep-plunge neckline transformed the Boricua star into a fashion icon almost overnight. After the awards, J.Lo reacted to all of the fashion hype by delcaring, "It was a nice dress. I had no idea it was going to become such a big deal."
The "Love Don't Cost a Thing" singer, who walked the red carpet with then boyfriend P. Diddy, was also celebrating the release of her debut album "On the 6," which sold three million copies by the summer of 2000.
The Puerto Rican fashion icon decided to rock a more conservative evening gown for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards. The pop singer wore a sky blue chiffon halter-top gown with silver and gown embellishments during her performance with former husband Marc Anthony for their duet, ““Escapémonos." The look was finished off with diamond hoop earrings and bangles. Classic J.Lo!
