From the moment Jennifer Lopez stepped onto the red carpet at last night's 2012 Oscars, there was buzz everywhere. Now that everyone's wondering if a nip-slip actually happened (watch the video yourself and tell us what you think), it's all anybody can talk about. But getting away from the x-rated and back to the fashion, let's talk about this dress, shall we?
With her hair pulled back into a bun and her neck bare, J.Lo made sure the focus was on the Zuhair Murad gown. It was a long-sleeved dress with a plunging neckline that also cinched in at the waist, accentuating her famous curves. She smartly chose a dress that flattered her and turned heads while still keeping it classy. She told Tim Gunn on the Red Carpet that she tries to keep her hip-hop and street style with her everywhere she goes, and perhaps it shows up here in the gown's gleaming gold. It shined on the red carpet and the majority of our readers think the dress was a hit.
But what was up with those sleeves? At our Oscars Twitter party last night, some of us agreed that the sleeve cut-outs were a bit strange. It seems to be the one thing that kept her from being the best dressed of the night, and it's a look that still has some people scratching their heads.
Others, especially the ladies commenting for the E! Red Carpet coverage, critiqued that it was more of a Grammy dress than one for the Oscars, but our Twitter party-goers disagreed with that.
Sleeves and Oscar-appropriateness aside, though, we think the dress was a win for Jennifer Lopez.
Do you agree? What did you think of J.Lo's dress?
