Christina Milian Dishes About Her Fashion Do's And Don'ts (Exclusive)

NBC

Christina Aguilera isn’t the only sassy Latina on the new hit show, The Voice. Christina Milian is also representing as the Social Media Correspondent for the hit NBC show. We got a chance to chat exclusively with the pop star about her distinctive style and fashion do's and don'ts.

How would you describe your style?

I would say fun, chic, and fashion forward with a little bit of comfort.

What’s your go-to outfit that never fails?

My go to outfit that never fails is a pair of skinny J brand jeans, Christian Louboutin heels, and a white T-shirt.

What’s the one piece that you have in your closet that you will never throw away?

Gosh, there are so many, but it’s usually shoes. Oh, I know! I’ve had these great champagne-colored Christian Louboutin tie-up boots since 2001 and I still wear them. They are very much a statement piece.

What’s a fashion “don’t” for you?

I don’t really have a fashion don’t. I love sneakers, I got into the sequins, panty hose, leggings. While I do like patterns, the one thing I stay away from is from wearing too many patterns at once – not a good look for a short person like me. It overwhelms your body frame.

Are there any prints you wouldn’t wear?

A zebra or cow print, lol!

You’ve been living on the west coast for a while, how would you say each style is different?

The style on the West coast is like the same thing year round. It’s very summery/spring filled with T-shirts and sweaters you can wear on top of everything while on the East Coast you can switch it up. I can have a hot fur coat half the year and then a cute leather jacket the other. For me, I probably wear more black, red and just more primary colors when I’m in the east coast, compared to LA where it’s more “flowery”.

What’s your preference?

My preference is the east coast; my whole wardrobe is prepared for the East Coast. I wasn’t even into fur coats, but after being in twelve-degree weather I was like, “um…it keeps me warm, it looks hot, and I eat meat, so no one can say anything to me.”

The Voice airs on Monday nights at 8pm on NBC.
