Bangs are simply ubiquitous, and why not? They are flattering, versatile and easy to style. According to Suzi Jacobi, a super exclusive private hairdresser to the stars (for her clients' discretion, she won't give out names), "You don't have to be limited to any one style just because of your face shape. Bangs of all styles look good on anyone who can pull it off. If you can own it, you can wear them." She also says that bangs are great for long faces or to make long hair look styled. But there are a few points to keep in mind if you're about to commit to bangs.
If you're going to do the supershort, Audrey Hepburn bangs that Penelope Cruz was recently seen wearing, you pretty much have to have bone straight hair.
"In hot weather, bangs can be annoying because they are constantly falling in your face," says Jacobi. "So they are definitely better for the fall and winter."
If you have curly or wavy hair, "blow dry your bangs straight with a round brush, a paddle brush, and a flat iron," says Jacobi. "Literally, the whole thing will take five minutes and it's so worth it."
"As a matter of fact, even if your hair is straight, your bangs will be much improved with a little bit of styling with a flat iron," says Jacobs.
Last but not least, "apply a little bit of shine product," says Jacobi. "Ojon is my favorite product at the moment."
