"I was nervous. I'm really shy and I much prefer my work to do the talking."
On Sunday, Cuban American fashion designer Narciso Rodrgiguez was honored by the American Latino Media Arts Awards for Special Achievement in Fashion. The New Jersey-bred Rodriguez has dressed starlets and notables for years, such as Jessica Alba, who wore one of his pale pink creations at the ALMA Awards (airing September 12 on ABC). On accepting the award, he told Women's Wear Daily, "I was nervous. I'm really shy and I mcuh prefer my work to do the talking."
Rodriguez also divulged plans to launch a new fragrance for January. This will be a follow up to Narciso Rodriguez for Her along with Narciso Rodriguez for Men, which launched way back in 2003 and, according to fashionista.com, is recognized as "the original and more complex version" of Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely. We hope this one is just as good.
