Exclusive! How To Get Jennifer Lopez's Glam Waves

For Marc Anthony's surprise birthday party in NYC, Jennifer Lopez pulled out all the stops: hiring Dita Von Teese for a burlesque performance, converting the Bowery Hotel into a Cuban-themed nightclub and making sure that celebs like Brooke Shields and Leah Remini were in attendance. As for her appearance, she spared no detail: the perfect white empire waist dress which showed off her fresh-from-a-triathlon physique and the natural yet glamorous waves that framed her face.

Latina.com secured an exclusive tutorial with celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves, who styled her hair for the special event, to find out how he created this party-ready look. Here's what he said:

"The inspiration was to create a sophisticated, Hollywood glamour look a natural approach. I knew that we were going to create another look later that evening, so I decided I wanted to create something glamorous but still soft. I began on the airplane from Los Angeles to New York, and started on her naturally air-dried hair.

First, I applied some Ken Paves Healthy Hair Shine Serum [$30, hsn.com] to polish and protect her ends.

Next, I curled her hair in random, two- inch sections (the randomness adds to the casualness) and pinned each section down to the head in a pin curl to let it cool, which is how you lock in the shape of the wave.

Then, I sprayed her hair all over with Ken Paves Healthy Hair Strong Hold Hair Spray [$24, hsn.com]. While the pin curls cooled, she did make-up.

Just before we landed, I brushed it out with a Mason Pearson brush [$80-151, drugstore.com] and pinned up the longer pieces in the back, sprayed with a little more hair spray and... voila! She was off to celebrate looking gorgeous as usual!"

Thanks, Ken! Now let us know how his tutorial works for you.
