Latinos made their presence known at last night’s 54th Grammy Awards. One of several stand-out performances of the night was Bruno Mars’ nod to the 1960s belting out “Runaway” off of his Grammy nominated Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The vivacious part-Puerto Rican donned a dazzling gold blazer and was backed by a full band as he crooned and danced for the crowd. Mid-song Mars asked the audience to rev up their excitement shouting, “Yo, tonight we celebrate. We celebrate the beautiful Miss Whitney Houston. Get off your rich asses and let’s have fun!” according to MTV.com. Continue down for a repeat of Mars’ act!
Another performance, this one of the dancing variety, was witnessed by Grammy viewers to the delight of football fans. New York Giants Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham took the stage along with NCIS’s Pauley Perette to present the award for Best Rock Performance, but not before a sampling of Cruz’s sexy salsa skills. When prompted by Perette, the part-Puerto Rican football player showed off his endzone victory dance. Check out a clip below!
Though the night seemed to belong to Adele, one Latino did manage to snatch up a Grammy. Half-Mexican Louis C.K. won the Best Comedy Album award for Hilarious.
